Tandems have always suffered with the problem of being too heavy, and sometimes bulky to maneuver and get through tight spaces. Well, Joovy decided to meet this problem head on by designing the Caboose Ultralight Sit and Stand Stroller. A narrower design along with sealed ball-bearing wheels allows this stroller to go places that other strollers are unable to go. The ball-bearing wheels give it such a smooth roll that one reviewer noted that it “feels like gliding”. It is made out of a lightweight aluminum which brings the total weight of this stroller to 21 lbs.; which is 20% lighter then other strollers. One of the main features of this stroller is the ability to sit two children comfortably. The 2-position recline front seat comes with a Universal Car Seat Adaptor which fits most car seats; while older children love the ability to sit or stand in the rear of the stroller. The rear-facing bench includes a buckle not available in most tandem strollers. Foam padded handles allow older children to stand and hold on to the stroller in comfort. Also included with the stroller, the large sun canopy is designed to cover both children while seated; a very good choice for times when everyone is out in the sun. Safety features include: a 5-point front harness, front and back wheel brakes, and reflective strips on the harnesses for nighttime/evening excursions. In addition, this stroller comes with the Parent Organizer so that parents carry their car keys, wallet, water bottle, and anything else they might need while out and about the town. Keeping all the assets in mind, there were a few reviews that noted some problems with this design. For instance, when a car seat is being used the rear facing child may need to lean forward to avoid hitting their head on the car set. In addition, with the car seat adaptor attached it added additional length to the folded stroller, which can be a problem when trying to fit the trunks of some automobile models. Another problem noted was the small size of the basket, and how hard it is to access especially when a child is sitting in back. Even with these issues, parents overall were very pleased with this product, and would be willing to purchase it again. As side note, many reviewers noted how excited their children were to use this stroller from the first moment they brought it home, so it comes with a high approval rating from the kids.
