Parents with more then two young children know that going out can really be a hassle, and even more so if it is one parent handling two or more little ones. For this reason a few manufacturers have designed triple strollers; but as everyone knows, the bigger the stroller, the heavier the weight. Because of this Joovy designed their Big Caboose Double Tandem Sit and Stand Stroller to address part of this issue. Rather then three seats situated one behind the other, Joovy choose to have the third seat include the sit-or-stand option. The second seat is positioned slightly above the first seat which allows the child in the second seat to see what is in front; which is an improvement over a triple tandem style. Sealed ball bearing wheels help to maintain both a smooth ride, and ease in pushing this stroller. Despite a stroller weight of 37 lbs unloaded, most reviewers said it was easy to push even with three kids on board. Joovy also included several other details that give it added benefits over other models. One of these details is the ability to carry two car seats at once; an option not available with other models. This stroller includes two Universal Car Adaptors which fit most car seats. Foam padded handles are provided for the older child to hold onto while standing in back; and foam padded handles for the parents comfort while pushing the stroller. Additionally, the rear seat comes with a buckle for those times when your older child needs to sit. The front two seats are shaded with two removable sun canopies, and come with two removable child trays. A large basket beneath the stroller will hold large items. Despite all of these features a few criticisms were still noted about this stroller. One of the most noted problems was the inability to turn it easily when loaded. Even though this was one of the main issues, the same reviewers noted that they had expected problems while trying to push/turn with the weight of three children on-board. Another noted problem was that the rear bench moved back and forth without the ability to lock it in place. Still another problem occurred when using two car seats together, or when the middle seat was reclined, many parents noted that the a child attempting to sit in the rear had little room, and often found standing to be more comfortable. The last issue was with the length of the stroller, most reviewers recommended checking the size of your vehicle space in comparison to the strollers folded size. Again, it is designed to hold up to three children it is still around the length of a triple stroller. Finally, despite the noted problems most reviewers thought this was the best buy for features, and the most reasonably priced in comparison to other triple strollers on the market. This stroller received 3-1/2 stars out of 5. Pros:
Two full-sized 2-position seats with Removable Sun Canopies
Second seat sits slightly above first for an on unobstructed view for the child
Patented rear platform with jump seat and buckle
Two removable Sun Canopies with ratcheting adjustment
Sealed ball-bearing wheels
Foam covered handles for the parents
Foam covered stand and grip handles for child on platform
Two Universal Car Seat Adaptors fits most car seats
Two removable kid trays
Large storage basket under the seat with side access
Cons:
Hard to maneuver when loaded
Heavy
Rear bench slides, unable to lock in place
When loaded with two car seats, or middle seat reclined, child on rear seat crowded
Length of stroller can be an issue for some vehicles when loading
