Bugaboo Gecko Standard Stroller Product Review

Bugaboo Gecko
Bugaboo Gecko
High Customer Rating
Type: Standard
Price: $600 - $700

As Bugaboo strove to perfect their first model (the Frog) two new models were introduced. One of these was the Bugaboo Gecko. With more models on the market Bugaboo wanted parents to have options to choose from. The Gecko has a “minimalist design” for parents who know exactly what they are looking for in a stroller.

The Gecko is a smaller than the Cameleon, but it still has the same features that are standard on all Bugaboo strollers. The reversible handlebars and the large wheels are all the same, but reviews praise this Bugaboo for city use. It is perfect for those who don’t use a car and just stroll around town. The Gecko easily maneuvers through crowds and over curbs and uneven sidewalks. Off road activity is a little to adventurous for this model. Though it has air filled wheels, the frame was not designed for uneven terrain or jogging.

The downside to the Gecko is the price. It does come with some accessories, but to get additional items, such as a car seat adaptor or a sun canopy, it is very costly. However, when you weigh this with the amount of money some families spend going through multiple strollers, it may be worth it for you. Plus, Bugaboo has one of the highest resale values of any stroller brand.

Pros: versatile, sturdy, reversible handlebars, lightweight, smooth ride, washable fabric, easy to maneuver, large tires, built to last, reclining seat, detachable storage bag
Cons: awkward to fold, bulky, no cup holder
