A comfortable ride, room to grow and smooth riding for small passengers, these are all comments reviewers had to say about the Baby Jogger® Advance Mobility™ Special Needs Independence Pushchair. The Independence has a lot of features that make this comfortable for passengers up to 100 lbs. It includes a padded seatback, with an easy to adjust 5-point safety harness, and a large footplate that includes footstraps to hold feet secure for passengers with lower body weakness or spasticity. The reclining back rest can be adjusted for passengers with longer torsos by adding a highback kit which adds an additional 5 inches to the seat back. A large sun canopy adjusts to three different positions to keep the sun off of passengers; it includes a clear-view viewing window, and side ventilation panels for air circulation. Features for parents include a curved handlebar for pushing comfort with an integrated handbrake and parking button, simple Quick-Fold technology, straps to prevent accidental folding, as well as a large storage basket beneath the seat, and storage on the back of the seat. For riding comfort the Independence includes 16” pneumatic puncture resistant tires, all wheels include sealed ball-bearings and glide smoothly over most terrain, and the stationary front wheel allows the stroller to glide effortlessly on straight surfaces. Despite all of these great features, reviewers did point out a few drawbacks to this model. Reviewers noted a problem with keeping the stroller folded during traveling as there is no system of keeping the stroller folded. Also, and due to some of the issues with keeping the stroller folded, reviewers felt it was bulky and cumbersome to travel well. Another issue was with the stationary front wheel which makes this stroller hard to turn, but great for straight surfaces. Even with some of the drawbacks reviewers were very pleased with their purchases, and especially liked the features that allow this stroller to accommodate larger passengers along with the great features that make this stroller comfortable for special needs passengers. This stroller overall received 4 out of 5 stars.
